DOWNLOAD: The latest version of RealmSpeak can be downloaded here. There are two pieces: the first piece is the resource pack that contains all the images needed by the game. It is fairly large, but you don't have to download it every time there is a release:
Unzip the contents of the Resource Pack into a new folder on your hard drive. The second piece is the application itself:
Unzip this file, and move the RealmSpeak.jar over to the folder where you unzipped the Resource Pack. RealmSpeak.jar should be at the same level as the images folder (but not IN the images folder - see screenshot). You don't need to expand the jar archive to play the game!! As
updates are released, you need only download the application, and
replace the jar file in the folder. The Resource Pack should remain
largely unchanged. If an update to the Resource Pack is needed, I will
be sure to mention it here. RealmSpeak
is compiled for Java 1.5, but you can still run it in Java 1.4 by
downloading, and using the translator available on the RealmSpeak Tools Page. Also, be sure to check out the new RealmSpeak FAQ. This will be a central place for handling common questions and troubleshooting the game on your system. WHAT DOES IT DO?RealmSpeak will currently let you play a full game of Magic Realm, solo, or with a number of friends online. All of the base rules are implemented, and many of the optional/revised/extended rules are in place as options, including such things as:
Every treasure/spell works as you would expect, and combat is fully functional. For a full report on what has changed since the last version, check out the RealmSpeak web log. Please keep in mind that this is a work in progress. If you have a problem, let me know, or report it at the bug tracker. This is the best way for me to get things fixed quickly! Thanks! Robin |
